Basic annual requirements for affiliation:
- Creation of a community- or region-wide committee with prime objectives of litter reduction and beautification.
- Letter of request to affiliate with KIB or KAB.
- Membership in KIB's annual support program.
- Creation of a year-long plan of action outlining programs, financial requirements, budget, volunteer involvement and in-kind needs.
- Participation in the annual statewide KIB meetings, conferences, etc.
- Designation of an individual to serve on a KIB Advisory Council.
- Use of the KIB logo on local materials.
- Conduct a litter survey of your area/community.
In return, KIB provides:
- Participation in the development of the two-year KIB plan.
- Development of an annual networking meeting to share ideas and provide training.
- Listing of affiliates on KIB materials and promotions.
- Statewide calendar of events to aid in volunteer recruitment.
- Development of a statewide award/recognition program.
- Statewide newsletter, web page and Internet linkages.
- Logo use–guidelines are being developed.
