Basic annual requirements for affiliation:

  • Creation of a community- or region-wide committee with prime objectives of litter reduction and beautification.
  • Letter of request to affiliate with KIB or KAB.
  • Membership in KIB's annual support program.
  • Creation of a year-long plan of action outlining programs, financial requirements, budget, volunteer involvement and in-kind needs.
  • Participation in the annual statewide KIB meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Designation of an individual to serve on a KIB Advisory Council.
  • Use of the KIB logo on local materials.
  • Conduct a litter survey of your area/community.

In return, KIB provides:

  • Participation in the development of the two-year KIB plan.
  • Development of an annual networking meeting to share ideas and provide training.
  • Listing of affiliates on KIB materials and promotions.
  • Statewide calendar of events to aid in volunteer recruitment.
  • Development of a statewide award/recognition program.
  • Statewide newsletter, web page and Internet linkages.
  • Logo use–guidelines are being developed.
Access to materials and supplies to aid in cleanup projects.
